Hermes board is repaired...changed Altera fpga and lan ic

 Altera is in qfn package-so , desoldering and soldering is not so complicated...

 PCB preheating is MUST! for easy desoldering due this thermal pad...

 

Repair price-cca 50 eur :)for parts... and some nice work.

Orion is different story...:(

sadly altera on orion board is also dead...after changing  lan controller,

board is alive and talking to HPSDR programmers but...only in bootloader mode? 

In normal mode...board is dead with no lan communication and with excessive heat from altera...

Price for Altera fpga is ridiculous  high-cca 450eur??? in mouser/digikey....

price is high also from china vendors...

I have found for my Angelia  board new altera for cca 100eur...so...orion board will wait...
