Honda Hornet 600 PC34 repair and some info

Okay, yes... this post is not about electronics...but, I am  big motorcycle fan also...:)
I love enduro, hard enduro and naked bikes..so i bought one Honda Hornet 600 1999 PC34 for  800 eur....but with some problems...

First problem-okay this is not a really problem, but previous owner have changed the brake hoses to HEL preformance hoses-but...brake hoses must be proper  mounted!

Repair is more or less easy  -all hoses are now mounted with proper Hel P clamps...

Another problem fuel petcock...
Due the hole in big vakuum membrane-fuel petcock was dead...no gasoline to the engine...

Bad big (vacuum) membrane-hole in membrane

 Membrane diameter is cca 36mm

After some research on net i found proper repair set for petcock repair...ok, this is not originally  repair set  for Hornet but dimensions for bigger and smaller membranes are the same...FCK-38 is the name for repair set...

Another problem is the carburetors...uhhh...poor idling and throttle response...etc
on the end i dismounted and cleaned all carbs and also separated them and changed all
O rigs and vacuum and gasoline hoses...

Some infos about O rings...or use original Honda sets (better option but  more expensive)

Update: for 16x1mm o ring is better to use 14x1 o ring...(this is original Honda o-ring size)

Original Honda parts ...you can find them on ebay sometimes...

Since my hornet is without original spedo and tacho...I get Koso DB02  digital tacho as replacement.

Wire mess ;)...

Koso  1/8 Temperature sensor is like hondas original sensor 1/8

No more wire mess...
For Koso tacho i have made  special holder from 3mm carbon  sheet ...cnc cutted from
my drawings...also i have  made little  windshield from 5mm plexyglass...

 3.3mm carbon Koso DB-02 holder

Bottom view...plexi windshield fabrication is in progress...

I changed carburetor intake rubber also...old was...old :)

New brake pads vs old brake pads :)

Rejeting....
Originally in Hornet 600 carburetors are mounted main jets #100 and #102, but i mine Hornet somebody have mounted 128 and 130 main jets!!!Too optimistic...:), okay they mounted also KN air filter and dynojet needle....but, 128/130 is far to big for this bike....so with this combination engine had problem to rev over 7000rpm:).

 New main jets...from 88 to 105

 Dismounting  carbs...again...

 Old big main jets

 New jets mounted...

After rejetting engine running good...like new.
With KN air filter you can try with 105/108 main jets...
